MODULE 1: INDUSTRIAL SPECIAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Activities are detailed below. This can be executed up to a capacity of EPC
  • Initiating:
    1. Objectives of the project
    2. Options worked out to meet out the objectives
    3. Decided option to move forward
    4. Basic engineering
    5. Process flow diagram
    6. Piping & Instrumentation diagram
    7. HAZOP Studies
    8. Macro level project schedule
    9. Macro level project Budget
    10. Macro level cash flow requirements
    11. Approval of projects from Approving Authorities
  • Planning:
    1. Details on land buying and process for NA including the payment schedule
    2. Details on Basic Engineering including the base data and end objectives
    3. Appointing the basic & detailed engineering consultant with deliverables including schedule for the same
    4. Prepare a project report for
    5. The application to statutory authority for Consent to build for starting the project at right time and also for Consent to operate that will allow to start the plant operation
    6. Loan approval body including the project cost and finance frame work
    7. Prepare and submit plot plant & GA drawing to local IDC, factory & Fire inspector’s approval
    8. Preparation of contract documents for civil, mechanical, electrical & instrumentation services that contains the scope in details along with the timelines coupled with cash flow required for the same
    9. Preparation of procurement planning based on the procurement lead time of equipment and materials coupled with the cash flow required for the same
    10. Preparation of work plan for site team for execution of project work
  • Execution:
    1. Micro level work plan and monitoring mechanism for procurement that includes PRF & PO release details, QAP and delivery schedule for materials & equipment
    2. Micro level work plan and monitoring mechanism for civil, mechanical, electrical,  instrumentation that includes activities with start and end Date & Time, predecessor activity, resource requirement, resource calendar
    3. Set up mechanism to maintain the quality of project execution maintaining QAP, WAP, SOP for welding, insulation, installation work including the safety compliance
    4. Set up mechanism to liaison various statutory approvals on time
    5. Set up the mechanism with work consultants – like basic & detailed engineering, civil & structure consultant, Architect, warehouse automation, process automation, special purpose machines consultants
    6. Set up mechanism for site safety work compliance including awareness program for each of the site members
  • Monitoring & Control:
    1. The broad level of monitoring & control is included in execution part. At a senior management level the project core team will have
      1. Weekly review meeting on project progress in first 3 months of the project execution
      2. Fortnightly review meeting on project progress in next 6 months of project execution
      3. Weekly review meeting on project progress in last 3 months of the project execution
    2. In the last 3 months, the process team will work hand in hand with the project team for system testing, simulations, operation & maintenance requirements that will have addition to the project work, pre-commissioning activities & commissioning activities
  • Closing:
    1. Conduct full load trial for each section of the plant for 72 hrs. that will ensure capacity of the plant. This will be witnessed by both project and process team
    2. Handover master copy of 3 sets of documents which are prepared during the project execution that includes OEM documents, QAP, test certificates, test reports, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) reports &Pre-commissioning test & Trial run reports jointly signed by process & project teams.
    3. Plant is handed over to process team for production
