MODULE 4: GREEN BUILDING

Activities are detailed below. This can be executed on a partial or full scale based on client’s requirements.

  1. Brown Field Project:
    1. Building energy audit that includes
      1. Data collection
      2. Measurements of
        1. Lighting
        2. Ventilation
        3. Refrigeration systems
        4. Air conditioning systems
        5. Other energy intensive areas
    2. Suggest measures /opportunities that will save on energy consumption
    3. Suggest technical alternatives which are green energy based that will bring the building within the green building category
    4. Provide the implementation plan as a way forward to green building
  2. Green Field Project:
    1. Participate with Architect on building plans that will incorporate Green Energy concepts based on
      • Natural lighting – to reduce lighting load
      • Natural ventilation – to reduce ventilation and air conditioning cost
      • Natural insulation – Use of double wall concept with air gap insulation
      • Natural cooling – use water wall to reduce refrigeration load
      • And So on….
    2. Predict the energy consumption for the building including the cost impact for incorporating green energy concepts referring the relevant building codes
    3. Provide a comparison of conventional building with green building including the payback period on the differential investment for green building
